That was the theme of SIMA’s Summer Racing Series Round 5. FKR was flexing its muscle with 7 karts (including team-owned and affiliates) in the Briggs 206 Light field.
The heat race went off well with Kevin finishing in first, Teddy in second and Jeff in third. Mike Adams made an impressive showing in fourth place. With the top three running so close in the heat, it seemed the main would be a battle between Kevin, Teddy and Jeff. The race started poorly for Kevin as he threw a chain on the out lap, never even making the race. Teddy also had a similar issue when battling for first. Jeff also had a DNF when the kart suffered damage to a tie rod and the steering column. Things got very interesting after these three dropped out. Mike Adams was running a strong second to eventual overall winner, Ken Porter (old guy) in his World Formula. Unfortunately, Mike seemed to have a target on his kart as he was involved in a few skirmishes, which affected his result. He still ran great, finishing fifth in Briggs 206 Light. The battle that started to develop in the 206 class was between Austin running in first for several laps, Jon, and Leo. Jon and Austin battled hard with Jon taking the checkers in first, Austin in second, and Leo in third for the 206 class. It was a great day of racing and regardless of DNFs, everybody worked hard and had a great time. Thanks again to: Claudio, Michael, the Valiante family and all SIMA employees for putting on this event and for supporting FKR (cool t-shirt Claudio!), Seattle Area Tees, JDM Sign and Graphics, Italkart/Italian Motors, and Kart-o-Rama. Thanks for tuning in, see you at the races! And, of yeah… #kartingrocks #fkrrocks
